Handmade with Heart

Mima Forever began during one of the hardest seasons of our lives.

In February 2025, my dad passed away. It was a heartbreaking time for our entire family—especially for my mom, who had been married to him for 69 years. We were all doing our best to support her, taking turns spending time with her and making sure she wasn’t alone.

But I wanted our time together to be more than just sitting and talking. I wanted us to do something—something we could share, something that might bring even a little light into such a heavy time.

My mom, “Mima” as everyone lovingly calls her, has always been creative. She’s spent years crocheting beautiful tablecloths, bedspreads, baby blankets, booties, and even little satchels we still use during family card games. Watching her create has always been something special.

So I thought—why not learn something new together?

We decided to try jewelry making.

At first, it felt impossible. We watched video after video, looking at beautiful pieces and wondering how anyone could actually make them. But I told her, we can do this.

On my next visit, I brought beads, elastic cord, tools—and a lot more determination.

And we started.

Beads went everywhere. Elastic cords snapped. Nothing went quite right. But we laughed—really laughed—for the first time in a while. Sometimes those laughs turned into tears. Sometimes we couldn’t even see clearly through them. But in those moments, we were doing something good for our hearts.

We kept going.

Each visit brought new creations, new memories, and a little more healing.

I began learning macramé bracelets, while my mom—despite arthritis in her hands—found her joy in beading. She makes the most delicate, beautiful bracelets, carefully mixing colors and patterns in her own unique way.

Now, when I watch her hands as she works, I think about all the love they’ve given over the years—the hugs, the comfort, the care. And I can’t help but feel that every piece she creates carries a part of that love with it.

Mima Forever is more than jewelry.

It’s about connection.
It’s about healing.
It’s about creating something meaningful, even in the middle of loss.

The name “Forever” is a reflection of what we hold onto—
the love we shared, the memories we keep, and the people who stay with us in our hearts, always.

Our hope is simple:

That when you wear one of our pieces, you know you're wearing something that was made with lots of love.
